Bacon Ends are exactly what they sound like: the thick, irregular pieces left when our Original Applewood Smoked Bacon is cut into those beautiful, even slices.
They're made with the same recipe as our Original Bacon and have the same rich applewood-smoked flavor. The only real difference is the shape — which actually makes Bacon Ends especially useful in the kitchen.
These aren't a lesser bacon or a different recipe. They're simply the irregular ends and pieces from the same bacon we sell sliced by the package.
Each pack contains a mixture of shapes and thicknesses, from meatier chunks to richer fatty pieces, giving you plenty of options depending on what you're cooking.
Dice them and crisp them in a skillet for eggs or potatoes, cook them into beans or greens, add them to soups and chowders, scatter them over roasted vegetables, or use them anywhere a recipe calls for chopped bacon.
They're especially useful when you're going to chop the bacon anyway — there's no reason to start with perfectly uniform slices when these pieces give you the same bacon flavor.
Our heritage breed pigs spend their lives outside in our fields and woods, where they're free to root, forage, explore and wallow.
They naturally forage on grasses, clover, roots, berries, nuts and whatever else they find throughout the seasons. Alongside what they forage, they're supplemented with a nutritionally balanced organic feed made without corn or soy.
We raise them slowly, give them plenty of space, and never use antibiotics, hormones or vaccines.
Approximately 1 lb per package. Individual package weights vary.
