Tussock Sedge Farm is a family-owned, pasture-based livestock farm
operating on more than 600 acres in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. We raise
animals with care and work with trusted local producers to provide our
community with high-quality, nutrient-dense food.
We are looking for dependable people who take pride in doing good work,

Current Openings
All positions are based at our farm in Perkasie, Pennsylvania, and
require dependable transportation.
Ranch hands are our feet on the ground, working directly with the
animals, pastures, fencing, equipment, and daily needs of the farm.
The work changes with the seasons, so this position is best suited
to someone who enjoys variety, physical activity, animals, and being
outdoors.
Weekday Ranch Hand
Regular weekday availability is required. Specific days and
hours can be discussed based on farm needs, experience, and
availability.
Weekend Ranch Hand
Regular weekend availability is required. Applicants should be
available Saturdays and Sundays, with some scheduling
flexibility possible.
What You’ll Do
- Feed and care for cattle, chickens, turkeys, and pigs
- Move animals and help manage rotational grazing systems
- Check animals carefully and report health or safety concerns
- Set up, move, maintain, and clear electric fencing
- Fill and move water systems, feeders, and mineral supplies
- Use hand tools and power tools for routine farm work
- Assist with seasonal livestock and pasture projects
- Help maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas
- Complete other farm and animal-care tasks as needed

Experience
Previous farming, livestock, mechanical, fencing, equipment,
or agricultural experience is helpful, but not required. We
are willing to train the right person who is reliable,
observant, teachable, and committed to our approach.
We are looking for a dependable, organized person to pack customer
orders, help manage inventory, and provide friendly customer
service. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys staying
busy, working carefully, and being part of a small team where
reliability and attention to detail matter.
What You’ll Do
- Select and pack fresh and frozen foods for customer orders
- Verify that every order is complete and accurate
- Neatly label bags, boxes, and customer orders
- Retrieve products from walk-in freezers and coolers
- Help customers during on-farm order pickup
- Communicate with customers by text, phone, email, and in person
- Receive, count, organize, and restock inventory
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Keep the packing room and storage areas clean and orderly
- Report inventory discrepancies or order errors promptly
- Help ensure orders are ready by their scheduled pickup times

Physical Work Environment
This position requires regularly entering walk-in freezers
maintained around 0°F. Appropriate freezer clothing is
provided. Applicants must also be able to repeatedly lift and
move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds from floor level to
approximately shoulder height.
Schedule
This position generally includes four or five workdays and
approximately 25–40 hours per week. Hours are primarily
flexible daytime hours and may vary with the season and order
volume. Saturday availability is strongly preferred.
