If you've been curious about organ meats but aren't sure where to start, Turkey Liver might be one of the easiest introductions.
Our Turkey Livers have a surprisingly mild flavor compared with many other types of liver, with a tender texture and rich, savory taste. They're also quick to prepare, making them much less intimidating than they might sound.
You don't need an elaborate recipe. Turkey Liver can be simply seasoned and quickly sautéed in butter or your favorite cooking fat with onions, garlic or herbs.
It's also excellent for making pâté, adding to homemade stuffing, incorporating into meatloaf or meatballs, or finely chopping and blending into Ground Beef for families who want to introduce organ meats more gradually.
Liver is naturally rich in important nutrients, including vitamin A, vitamin B12, folate, iron and copper. Because it packs so much nutrition into a relatively small serving, you don't need to eat a large amount at once.
Great For:
Sautéing • Pâté • Stuffing • Meatloaf • Meatballs • Blending With Ground Meat
Our turkeys are raised on pasture and moved onto fresh grass twice each day, where they forage naturally on grasses, clover, insects and other plants.
Alongside what they forage on pasture, they're supplemented with a nutritionally balanced organic feed made without corn or soy.
What's growing beneath their feet matters too. Our pastures are 100% zero spray—we don't use herbicides, pesticides or fungicides, including sprays approved for organic production. We also never use antibiotics, hormones or vaccines.
Our turkeys are harvested right here at Tussock Sedge Farm using calm, low-stress handling from beginning to end.
