About Like A Mustard Seed Farm

Like A Mustard Seed Farm grew from a season of change for Kevin and Kristin Jones. After Kevin lost his job, their family began searching for a different way of life. At the same time, health concerns led Kristin to reconsider how she fed herself and her family and to begin studying the principles and practices of regenerative agriculture.

Kristin brought a background in education and a willingness to teach herself a new way of farming. Kevin brought a family heritage rooted in agriculture. When the opportunity arose to move to a farm and work together as a family, they felt called to take a leap of faith and founded Like A Mustard Seed Farm in September 2020.

The name draws from two biblical teachings: that even faith as small as a mustard seed can accomplish remarkable things, and that a tiny seed can grow into a plant large enough to offer shelter and protection. Kevin and Kristin hope both ideas are reflected in the life of their farm.

Their mission is to serve the community through the farm’s products, property, and educational opportunities. Kevin and Kristin are also friends of ours, fellow Mennonites, and members of the same local farming community. That personal relationship gives us confidence in the people behind the food and allows our farms to support one another in practical ways.
