Behind Your Whole Bean Coffee

Good Coffee Begins Long Before Roasting

Our Whole Bean Coffee partner, The Coffee Scoop, connects careful farm sourcing with local roasting. Regenerative organic and biodynamic growing practices, mycotoxin testing and relationships with small producers are central to these selections.

What Is Biodynamic Farming?

Biodynamic farming treats the farm as an interconnected, largely self-sustaining ecosystem. It emphasizes soil fertility, natural composting and crop diversity, while prohibiting synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. This whole-farm approach makes the care of the land part of the story behind the coffee.

Small Farms & Cooperatives

The Whole Bean Coffee sourcing program prioritizes small farms and farming cooperatives, lasting producer relationships and compensation at the upper end of market prices. Those connections support rural livelihoods and recognize the work behind each harvest.

Find the Cup That Fits Your Day

Freshly Ground & Brewed

Explore The Coffee Scoop’s roast descriptions and tasting notes to guide your choice. Grind just before brewing when possible, using a grind suited to your brewing method.

Chilled & Ready to Pour

Enjoy Backyard Beans Cold Brew straight from the refrigerator. Serve over ice, add a splash of milk, or finish with a little Maple Syrup. Follow the can’s directions when serving Nitro Coffee.

Fragrant & Comforting

Choose a classic Tea, a warming Chai or a caffeine-free herbal blend. Enjoy on its own, with a little Honey, or alongside something delicious from the Bakery.

Brew to Your Taste

For Coffee, keep your bean-to-water ratio consistent, then adjust the grind or amount a little at a time. A small change can help you find the balance of strength and flavor you enjoy most.

For Tea, follow the blend’s water-temperature and steeping guidance. Green Tea generally benefits from cooler water than black Tea or many herbal blends. Try a little more Tea for a stronger cup rather than steeping much longer.

Store Well & Choose Your Caffeine Level

Keep dry Coffee and Tea tightly sealed, away from heat, light, moisture and strong odors. Refrigerate Cold Brew according to its package instructions.

Check individual selections for caffeine information. Decaf Coffee contains some residual caffeine; black and green Teas contain caffeine, while herbal blends vary by their ingredients.

A Morning Brew. An Afternoon Pause. A Cozy Evening Cup.

The best daily rituals are often the simplest. Find a Coffee you love, discover a fragrant Tea, and make a little time to enjoy your cup— on your own or with someone around the table.
